Isaiah 40:31 (NLT) But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

I have never been good at waiting. Even as a child, I hated waiting for my ride to school, or for my friends to come over. And, as an adult, I prefer to be the one giving the ride or the one coming to someone’s house, that way I didn’t have to wait. So yea, waiting has never been something I appreciated.

But, Isaiah told us that waiting was very important. And, we have to understand why?

Impatience is based upon a lie. The lie is, “I can handle it. Or, I can do it.”  The lie believes that in ourselves we are strong and able. But, we are not. We are weak. And, we are prone to failure. We fail ourselves, those we love, and God.

When you need something you don’t have, you have no choice but to wait. The good news is that we have a source for all of the things we don’t have.

Unbelievers are forced to wait but they have no real hope and no real provision. We have a Father God who will empower us farther, faster, and easier than we could ever accomplish on our own.

When we wait, we wait for what will accomplish more than we could ever hope.
