Surrender to be Free and experience Victory

“He who believes in Me…out of his heart will flow rivers of living water’— and hundreds of other lives will be continually refreshed. Now is the time for us to break ‘the flask’ of our lives, to stop seeking our own satisfaction, and to pour out our lives before Him. Our Lord is asking who of us will do it for Him?” – Oswald Chambers

The Journey of How

Worship and Transformation

There are numerous definitions of the word worship. Yet, one in particular encapsulates the priority we should give to worship as a spiritual discipline: Worship is to honor with extravagant love and extreme submission

Transformation is to become a fully formed follower of Jesus, one who puts on the “new self” and who is transformed into the character of Jesus with increasing radiance starting right here, right now.

Collisans 3:23-24 – 23. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24. knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.

Romans 12:1-2   (Message)

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.(Surrender)

Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. (Worship)

You’ll be changed from the inside out. (Transformation) Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

The choice to fully surrender to Jesus always involves two parts: being emptied and being refilled. We are emptied when we recognize our need to die to self—to our old nature—and we cry Uncle. Fully surrendering to Christ also means choosing practices that refill us day by day by day with the character of Jesus.

Closing Prayer

Lord, I recognize to experience transformation, I must first choose the practice of surrender. I cry Uncle. I surrender all. Sweetly break me. Today, empty me of self and refill me with the character of Jesus. Help me to make surrender a daily, moment-by-moment practice so I may learn to walk with God. Thank you that as I begin walking with you down the journey of how, I will experience the transformation that enables me to love God and love others in a way that helps bring transformation to the world.”
