Pop Quiz: How much time have you spent praising God this morning?
Asking for things doesn’t count.
Just reading a passage of scripture doesn’t count.
Giving God a nod of acknowledgement doesn’t count.
What I’m asking is this: How much time did you spend staring at God and telling Him how amazing He is?
We were God’s enemy. Destined to face His wrath.
Let that sink in.
Jesus was tortured on a cross to appease the wrath of God.
For you.
Does that truth still boggle your mind?
You are now reconciled with God. Made right. According to the laws of the universe. The same laws that govern gravity and motion and buoyancy.
You are no longer a slave or an orphan. God has adopted you as His own child.
His own.
How do we go a day without praising him for this?
In fact, God wanted to be so close to you that He made his home within you. God abides in you!
Don’t merely nod your head or acknowledge that you’ve heard this all before. Father God cherishes you so profoundly He couldn’t imagine dwelling anywhere other than the center of your being—your heart.
Right now stop whatever you’re doing and worship God.
You are breathing because God gave you breath. Use that breath for its intended purpose.
Praise Him. Bless Him.
O my soul, come, praise the Eternal One with all that is in me—body, emotions, mind, and will—every part of who I am—praise His holy name. O my soul, come, praise the Eternal One; sing a song from a grateful heart; sing and never forget all the good He has done.
Psalm 103:1-2 VOICE
Today, there is nothing more important, nothing more valuable, nothing more worthy of your time, and nothing more worthy of your energy than to worship God.
Once we lose our fascination, we lose everything. Including our own effectiveness.
Don’t gloss over that. Read it again:
Once we lose our fascination, we lose everything. Including our own effectiveness.
Fill your heart with praise and express that praise to God.
That’s worship.
