This week we’re using the PRAISE framework as a launch point to connect with God and worship him.

A tip of the hat to Darlene Fray for developing this framework and teaching it to our worship team.

=======

P – Proclaim (declare) truth

R – Renew our Mind, Refresh our Soul

A – Adoration

I – Intimacy & Intercession

S – Sanctification

E – Expectation (expect to meet with God)

Today we’re looking at the letters A and I in the word Praise. The A stands for Adoration and the I stands for Intimacy & Intercession.

In the framework, our next step begins with giving adoration to God.

Adoration literally comes from a Latin word that means “to give worship to someone or something”. It’s very similar to what we do when we Proclaim Truth (as in the first step).

The difference is Adoration has a level of emotion attached to it that isn’t necessary to Proclaim. Adoration requires deeply personal feelings about how we relate to those things we proclaim and declare.

One of the ways we do this is to go beyond praising God with words. Times of silence, where we can simply BE with God. Silence allows God to come near, and allows the space for intimacy to occur.

But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

Matthew 6:6 NLT

This tilts us directly into the next letter of the framework: I is for Intimacy and Intercession.
