Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.”

King Herod was deeply disturbed when he heard this, as was everyone in Jerusalem. He called a meeting of the leading priests and teachers of religious law and asked, “Where is the Messiah supposed to be born?”

The best word I can think of to describe Jesus last night is “heavy”.  It does seem to be completely sad.  Jesus seemed to take joy in washing their feet. He enjoyed serving them the passover meal, and spending time with them. But, He also knew what was ahead of Him. His purpose was about to meet man’s evil and God’s wrath head on.

Jesus was very busy His final week before He endured the Cross. He knew that a series of events had been set in motion. And, His teachings the last few days of His ministry became very clear, concise, and even sharp.

Jesus flipping tables and running money changers out with a whip made of ropes is an image that sticks with you. All four gospels record it, so you know it certainly made an impression upon the Disciples.

I have never been good at waiting. Even as a child, I hated waiting for my ride to school, or for my friends to come over. And, as an adult, I prefer to be the one giving the ride or the one coming to someone’s house, that way I didn’t have to wait. So yea, waiting has never been something I appreciated.

Natural and ordinary problems start in a supernatural place. Every problem we are able to see begins with unseen forces.

When our words become filled with God’s Love and value of a person, we easily build them. We encourage them, not just to do more, but to BE more because they ARE more.
