Now is time to get serious.

Everything we have done up to this point can happen on autopilot… eventually.

But, the moment has come. You are awake, dressed, and your blood is pumping. You are ready.  For what?

Philippians 4:8 (NLT) And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

It’s Important To Not Get Distracted.

Your phone is on the nightstand or – better yet – in a drawer across the room.

If you get distracted by InstaFaceTwitGram, your energy and thoughts will scatter. You won’t accomplish much if that happens. In fact, you will likely develop more anxious or frustrated feelings because of it. You will not know what you are thinking about. But, those thoughts will burn your energy just the same.

You’ve only got so much energy each day. There are a limited number of intentional moments to glean. If you get distracted, those precious opportunities begin to slip away.

So… NO DISTRACTIONS.

I know it’s easier said than done. But, fight for your focus. Do anything and everything you can to FIX YOUR THOUGHTS on the best things.

Everyone in your life will reap a great benefit if you do. The person you will be today will be stronger, happier, and better.

So this is important. Got it?

This is the most important boundary of your day. Explain it to needy older children and enlist their help. Talk about it with your spouse. And, keep your phone silent and away from you.

You don’t need any one of the 7 billion-plus people in the world shattering this opportunity.

It’s More Important To Get FOCUSED!

Here it is. The moment we have been preparing to enjoy has come. This is what we do with all of that conserved energy and brainpower. We have been protecting our focus since we first awakened for this.

PRESENCE.

Hebrews 4:16 (NLT) So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

An audience with God awaits you. The creator of the Universe and your Divine Father awaits your arrival.

Seriously, can you think of anything more important than a face-to-face with God? If you can, we don’t think the same.

Think about it. You don’t know what today is going to bring. You don’t know what you are going to need to face it. But, your Father in heaven, who loves you like crazy, knows.

Not to mention, so I’ll mention it. You are loaded with worry, insecurity, pride, and shortcomings. He is giving out peace, love, joy, faith, and hope every morning. Your greatest needs are freshly minted every morning from the storerooms of Heaven.

How Can You Get Focused?

Start mentally processing a scripture that is speaking to you right now. How about this one?

Ephesians 3:19 (NLT) May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

You might ask, “How could I experience Christ’s Love?”

You should pray. (Also known as talking to God.) “Father, how do I experience this love?”

You could just be still a moment and think about Christ’s love. Think about times that Christ’s love was obvious in the Bible.

The time he forgave the woman caught in adultery in John 8.

The time he talked to the crazy guy and set him free from his insanity and demons in Luke 8.

Or, that time He defended the woman who anointed His feet in Luke 7.

There are scores of stories that demonstrate Jesus’ love.

So as you read them and think about them. Imagine yourself in the story. Use that wonderful imagination of yours to see. See Jesus forgiving you. Your mind’s eye can watch as Jesus restores you, defends you, heals you, and LOVES YOU!

Now…

Isn’t that better than InstaFaceTwitGram?  Isn’t that amazing?

If you want God to be the focus of your life, start your day focusing upon Him. If you want Jesus to be your life’s primary pursuit, then start chasing Him first thing.

Awesome!
Now let’s get these mornings launched at warp speed with just a few more pieces.

But, that’s enough for today, so I’ll see you Monday!

Grace!
