So there you are. Look at you! Standing in your bathroom. The shock wears off as you realize that you are no longer in bed. You are standing and not wrestling with your alarm.
(If you don’t know what I’m talking about you likely missed the last article. Launch your day without smashing your alarm.)
You haven’t picked up your phone, checked your email, or posted a selfie. (Why? Go here.)
The computer is booting up. Your brain is running clean and fast. No distractions have bogged down the system yet.
Well, you ARE in the bathroom.
Prepare to face the day. Get dressed to do what needs doing.
Will you be meeting important people today? Sure, your thinking, “Not really.” But your family is important. Your friends are important. So get ready to help and hang out with important people.
Dress in whatever way that is necessary, so your brain knows that you are ready for the day.
No more dragging around the house dreading the day ahead. You are ready for it. You are ready to go!
Today you will go and do battle. You will fight for your sanity. You will stand up for your profession and career. The battle you will wage for your family will be nothing short of epic. Not to mention, you. You are going to wrestle for your own heart today.
But, do not fear. All this fighting is not tiresome.
It’s going to be a GREAT day! God is going to show up in your life today. In fact, He is going to be working all around you today.
So, start by getting ready for a Great Day.
1 Peter 1:13 (NLT) So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.
Now, there you stand. In front of your mirror admiring God’s wonderful craftsmanship in the creation of you.
You look great! Wow!
So, get moving. Do something physical so the rest of your body knows you mean business. You know your muscles are thinking, “I’m not waking up to just sit somewhere.” Now is the time to let your body know, that today we mean business. Today is going to be a blast and we are ready for it.
Give yourself a few minutes of movement. Take the stairs a couple of times. You might gift yourself a big old stretch. Or, take a short walk.
The goal isn’t a full-on workout. If you plan to do that, do it before you get dressed. You don’t want to be the cause of any additional odors in your home or office. But hey, you be you.
The intent is to fully engage. If you get your blood moving more oxygen will get to your brain. Then you will be ready to boot up the first and best app of the day.
Your “machine” will be processing at top speed. And, you will want that for what comes next.
So are you ready… For what comes next.
Til next time.
God is Great In You!
