Paul writes a letter to some old friends he had not met.

  • Discuss Paul’s reference to himself as a slave of Christ Jesus. Romans 1:1

  • Discuss Paul’s description of the “Good News”. Romans 1:2-4. What do you think about Paul’s repeated use of the term “Good News”? What does Paul’s repeated use of the term demonstrate regarded Paul’s motivations?

  • Review Romans 1:7.  What does it mean to be loved by God? How do we know we are loved by God based upon the “Good News”?  What does it mean to be called “God’s own holy people”?

  • Review Romans 1:8-9. What do you think about Paul’s prayer life? How does your prayer life compare? How could your prayer life become more vibrant?

  • Review Romans 1:17. How does faith make us right with God?

  • Review Romans 1:18-19. What do these verses teach us about atheism? What are the consequences declared in the remain verses of this chapter?

  • Did anything stand out in your reading today that you could share with someone else?
