Dear Ordinary Faith Family,
We are excited to announce that in August, Ordinary Faith will welcome a new part time Worship Pastor. Steve Williams and His wife Becky will be joining the ministry here in Rock Springs, along with their two youngest children, Emery and Emma .
The Williams family visited us in early June for a few days. During that visit they spent time with the Leadership team, Pastors Micheal and Michael (Maynard and Longfellow) and Steve played piano with our worship team. Pastor Steve has completed a personality assessment, a background check, an extensive questionnaire, and a thorough interview. After a season of prayer and reflection, it was decided that the Williams family were an answer to prayer and they were invited to serve with Ordinary Faith.
Pastor Steve holds a degree in music education from Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, CA. He has served in a number of associate and worship pastor roles and is also experienced in sales and communications. He is a wonderfully talented musician with a genuine love for people. Pastor Steve has a passion for building relationships, strong teams and genuine worship. In His own words he says, “My personal vision for ministry is to help others understand that living a life of faith in Jesus Christ is a logical choice. And that worship is more than a set of songs in a Sunday service—it’s a way of life that should be reflected in every facet of who we are becoming.”
Becky is also very experienced in ministry with a background in Children’s ministry and camps. She is enjoying life as a full-time mom to Emery (10) and Emma (8) right now. And, after a lifetime in southern California, is looking forward to the Big Skies of Wyoming.
Pastor Steve will be responsible for our worship team. He will handle new worship team members, the spiritual development of the worship team, as well as scheduling, song selection, and music for special events. He will enable us to better accomplish the strategic discipleship, fellowship, and community engagement priorities of Ordinary Faith.
They should be arriving the first week of August, so hopefully you will get a chance to meet them Sunday, August 5th and even spend some time with them August 12th at our annual Church Picnic and River Baptism. We would like to have a “pantry stocking party” for them on August 5th in order to help them get settled in and to show our appreciation of their step of faith. If you would love to help us welcome the Williams please bring an item to help stock their pantry to church on August 5th.
