Jesus flipping tables and running money changers out with a whip made of ropes is an image that sticks with you. All four gospels record it, so you know it certainly made an impression upon the Disciples.

Matthew 21:13 (NLT) He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves!”

Is anything more important than prayer to God? Jesus talked about it on several occasions. He practiced it so much that his disciples asked Him to teach them to pray. And, here He makes it very clear, “My house will be filled with Prayer.”

But the Temple in Jerusalem no longer stands. God’s House has moved.

We are God’s house. (John 4:23-24, 1 Peter 2:5)

It is vital that we fill God’s House and Our Lives with Prayer. We should pray for a better relationship with God. Prayer should empty us of our “money changers” and other distractions. Prayer should flow from us like a freely flowing river. We should be known as people who pray. We must be known as those who can be counted on to pray for others.

We know there is nothing more powerful than Prayer.

This week is Holy Week in liturgical churches. And, all churches take this week to seriously reflect upon Jesus Christ and what He has done for mankind.

People will be thinking about God this week more than at other times of the year. So, I invite you to pray for the salvation of those who are struggling with God. This weekend as we will reflect. And, Saturday and Sunday, we will proclaim the wonderful gift of the Resurrection.

BUT, Satan has blinded the minds of those who do not believe. We desperately need God to show up and tear that veil away. The unbelieving need God to become very real to them.

A young prayer warrior came to be last Sunday. He told me that God had told him that an awakening to prayer was coming soon.

I pray for myself and all of us, that Today is that Awakening.
